Now, before you start to panic, and label me as some kind of freak for drawing all these pictures of bones, please keep in mind that my Masters thesis was the analysis of the faunal remains (bones from dead livestock), from several historic farmsteads in Upper Canada. I was attempting to determine the level of self sufficiency at each of the farms by looking at their butchering practices. Most of the following illustrations demonstrate some kind of butchering technique. To see how I try and explain it all, see this excerpt from my thesis.
